In order to accommodate all kinds of listings, Pavemint offers two different pricing options. As a Host, you can choose to charge a variable rate, which means you set an hourly price and Guests pay based on the length of their reservation, or you can charge a flat rate, which means Guests will pay the same amount regardless of how many hours they reserve. Flat rates are charged per 24 hours, so a Guest who makes a two-day reservation will pay the flat rate twice.
The variable rate option is most similar to a parking meter, whereas the flat-rate option is most like the way that airport and stadium parking lots charge. If your listing is in an area where people are likely to come and go often, for example near restaurants, shops, stores or anywhere you see parking meters, you will most likely earn more by charging a variable rate. If you live near a sporting or event venue, we recommend charging a flat rate. With Pavemint, you also have the option of customizing your listing so that you charge a variable rate on a regular basis, and a flat rate only on specific days when you know there is an event that will have high parking demand. You can do this using the Calendar feature in the Manage Listings section of the app or website.
